In the past few years, China has made tremendous contributions to global development and poverty alleviation. It has provided emergency aid to countries in need, sent medical teams and supplies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and invested heavily in renewable energy sources. In addition, it has contributed to international efforts in areas such as climate change, nuclear non-proliferation, counter-terrorism and peacekeeping operations. China also continues to be a major contributor of aid for developing countries through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative.
