The sun is shining on a brand new day
The birds are singing and the world is okay
But in the midst of beauty there comes dismay
As I ponder upon Hamlet's solemn play

I seek to answer his query of life
Should I choose to live or choose to die?
In the face of sorrow and strife,
I know this much that I must try.

For if I gave in, what would remain?
A cold darkness where love once reigned?
An empty soul with no purpose or gain?
No, no such future can be sustained.

And so I stand up strong and bravely say,
That life is worth living come what may. Despite all odds, with courage we'll sway! For survival not destruction will have its way.
