Self-admitted technical debt is a term used to describe the conscious decision to take on technical debt in order to meet deadlines or move projects forward. Technical debt is the cost associated with taking shortcuts or making decisions that result in a less than ideal solution, and self-admitted technical debt is when an organization knowingly takes on this kind of debt.
